Evidence of Evolution
Over the years, Earthworms have a chemical inside their segmented bodies that protects them from polluted soil. Earthworms that are used to clean soil don't have the chemical because they never experienced polluted soil in their life. The chemical inside a earthworm's body makes them be protected by zinc and lead in the soil. They have also obtained special hairs around the segmented body which makes the earthworms move faster in the soil. This makes the earthworm work faster inside the soil.
Natural Selection
Since the world is very polluted, pollution has been in the soil for years. Earthworms that are used to this pollution in the soil are the ones that will survive. They will survive because they have a special chemical inside their bodies that make them not be affected by the pollution. Other earthworms that are not used to polluted soil and are used to clean soil, they are the ones that will die if all the worlds soil is polluted.
